Use as switch hi-hat

The Hi-Hat Controller Sensor works on the Donner DED-400 as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS pad → the hi-hat lead of the signal-connection harness, with the controller on its own separate lead — the assembly figure wires the hi-hat and the hi-hat pedal as two separate items

Switch-type hi-hat — the manual documents three discrete states (p.10), not continuous pedal travel.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the hi-hat pad to the HI-HAT lead on the module's signal-connection harness; the controller runs on its own separate lead (p.9).
  2. Note: there is no hi-hat-control jack on the panel — the socket diagram runs TRIGGER INPUT, TOM4, CRASH2, L/MONO, R, AUX IN, USB. The controller reaches the module on its own harness lead, and pedal response is set in the menu (HH.L, HH.S).

Module settings

  1. Press the MENU button, use +/- to select 2-PAD SET, and press OK to enter the pad parameter interface.
  2. Tap the hi-hat pad to select it, then press + / - to choose a parameter and turn the encoder to set the value (press OK to confirm).
  3. Set Pad Sen (surface sensitivity, 1-6), HH.L (stomp cymbal sensitivity, 1-3), HH.S (stomp cymbal speed, 1-3), Threshold (trigger threshold, 1-32), and Volume (0-127).
  4. Press SAVE to store the settings.

Tips

  1. HH.L (stomp cymbal sensitivity) and HH.S (stomp cymbal speed) tune the pedal response (p.11).
