Wiring: 1× hi-hat pad + hi-hat controller → HI-HAT / HI-HAT CTL connectors on the nine-channel snake (3.5 mm mini at the module end)
Every trigger jack on the DTX400K is 3.5 mm mini — HI-HAT (mini mono) and HI-HAT CTL (mini stereo) per the specifications (p.64) — not 1/4", so Lemon 1/4" hardware does not plug in directly. The DTX400K ships with a basic hi-hat controller; the position-sensing HH65 is stock on the DTX430K/450K only (pp.8-10).
Cable routing
- The hi-hat pad and controller connect via the nine-channel snake cable; its module-end plugs are 3.5 mm mini (p.18, p.64).
Module settings
- Hold the [KIT] button and press the [SONG] button to enter Menu Mode.
- Press number button [5] for the Trigger Settings group, then [4] for the Pedal Types parameter; leave [1] (automatic identification) or pick the combination that matches your controller.
- Press number button [5] again then [5] for the Gain parameter, strike the hi-hat pad, and set its gain (1-127).
- To tune where the closed sound triggers, press number button [4] for the Hi-hat Settings group, then [3] for Foot Close Position (0-32).
Tips
- This module reads the hi-hat controller as open/closed only — no half-open or continuous articulation.
