Common questions about Lemon pads.
Compatibility, cables, and module setup — the answers most buyers need before they order.
Will Lemon pads work with my electronic drum module?
Most Lemon pads work with the popular modules from Roland, Alesis, Yamaha, Simmons, 2box, EFNOTE, GEWA, and others — including dual-zone snares, multi-zone cymbals, and mesh-head pads. The exact wiring, cable type, and module settings depend on the combination. Pick your module in the finder above to see verified, per-product setup guides for every Lemon pad it supports.
What cable do I need to connect a Lemon pad?
Single-zone pads use a standard mono 1/4-inch (TS) cable. Dual-zone and triple-zone pads — snares, ride cymbals, and multi-zone crashes — need a stereo 1/4-inch (TRS) cable to carry both zones over one connection. A mono cable will still trigger the primary zone, but rim or edge hits will not register. Each per-product setup guide names the exact cable for your module.
Are Lemon multi-zone pads truly dual- or triple-zone?
Yes. Lemon dual-zone snares trigger the head and rim independently. Triple-zone ride cymbals trigger bow, edge, and bell on modules with two ride inputs. Modules with a single ride input get bow + bell after a one-time internal jumper move inside the cymbal (reversible, ~10 minutes; edge is sacrificed). The per-(pad, module) support page shows exactly which zones light up for your setup.
Do I need to change settings on my module after plugging in?
For best response, yes. Each module has trigger presets — "mesh snare," "PD-108," "Roland-style ride," and similar — that match a pad's piezo and rim/zone behavior. The setup guide for your specific pad and module names the exact preset to pick, the sensitivity range that works best, and any rim or zone enable steps, so you do not have to guess.
Why are Lemon pads cheaper than Roland or Alesis pads?
Lemon manufactures pads directly and sells them through its own channels, skipping the OEM markup and distributor chain that legacy brands carry. The construction is the same proven mesh-head + piezo design for drums and shell + piezo + zone-switch design for cymbals used across the industry. The price reflects the supply chain, not the build.
Can I use a Lemon ride or crash as a hi-hat?
Some Lemon cymbal pads can function as a hi-hat in combination with a separate hi-hat controller pedal, but they are not interchangeable with a dedicated hi-hat assembly that includes proper open/closed detection. The support page for your module lists which Lemon products are supported in the hi-hat role and what controller or pedal pairing your module needs.
Where do you ship and how long does it take?
Lemon Drums currently ships within the United States only. Delivery times depend on the shipping option you pick at checkout — available carriers, estimates, and rates appear once you enter your address. Tracking is included on every order and the number arrives by email as soon as your pad ships.
What if a pad does not fit my kit or arrives damaged?
The per-module support pages exist to prevent fit surprises before you order — check the verdict for your specific (pad, module) pair on the support page first. If a pad arrives damaged, or if you need to start a return for any reason, use the contact link below the FAQ and we will walk you through it.
