Wiring: 1× TRS → HI-HAT input (TRIGGER INPUT 3) on the rear panel + 1× TRS (controller) → HH CTRL input on the rear panel
Continuous hi-hat control via the HH CTRL jack. The TD-6 supports the FD-7 and FD-6 hi-hat control pedals and provides smooth open-to-closed transitions.
Cable routing
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the HI-HAT input on the rear panel.
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat controller to the HH CTRL input on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Hold [SHIFT] and press [EDIT (SETUP)], press [ ] to select "TRIG BASIC", then press [ENTER].
- Strike the hi-hat pad so the display shows the HH input.
- Set "TrigTyp" to PD7/9 — the TD-6's trigger-type list has no hi-hat values, and PD7/9 is the setting its manual gives for a non-Roland pad. If striking force doesn't give a stable volume, try "Other 1" then "Other 2".
- Pedal position is read from the HH CTRL jack, not from the trigger type — the TD-6 takes continuous open-to-closed control from that jack with no setting of its own.
Tips
- Continuous pedal control provides smooth open-to-closed transitions, including foot splashes.
- Calibrate the pedal at its rest position when powering on — do not press the pedal until the [KIT] lamp has lit.
