Hi-Hat Controller Sensor on Yamaha DTX700

Module settings

1. Strike the hi-hat pad, then press the [MENU] button, turn the dial to select Trigger, and press the dial.
2. Turn the dial to select Pad, then press the dial — the [HI-HAT] input is selected.
3. Move the cursor to the PadType row and set it to RHH135 — the entry for a real hi-hat pad that brings its own controller to the [HI-HAT CONTROL] jack (Owner's Manual p.12; the Reference Manual prints the full list at p.46).
4. Set Gain (1–64) on the same Pad Type page (p.46), adjust MinLevel (Minimum Level, 0%–99%) and RejectTime (4ms–500ms) for a clean response (pp.46–47).
5. Press the [STORE] button to store the setting — if a confirmation message appears, press the dial to proceed.
6. If closed hi-hat sounds are hard to get, lower FootClosePos (Foot Closed Position, -32 to +0 to +32) on the Menu area's Utility/Pad page (Reference Manual pp.40, 65).
