Use as switch hi-hat

The Hi-Hat Controller Sensor works on the Yamaha DTX700 as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS pad → [HI-HAT] input + 1× TRS pedal → [HI-HAT CONTROL] jack (1/4" TRS jacks)

The DTX700 has a dedicated [HI-HAT CONTROL] jack (p.12; specification [HI HAT CONTROL], p.57) and documents graded closing — a firmer press in the closed position for a tighter sound, plus a foot-splash (p.23). With the Lemon controller this module delivers open/closed hi-hat.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the hi-hat pad to the [HI-HAT] input.
  2. Connect the pedal controller to the [HI-HAT CONTROL] jack.

Module settings

  1. Press the [MENU] button, turn the dial to select Trigger, then press the dial.
  2. Turn the dial to select Pad, then press the dial; strike the hi-hat pad so the [HI-HAT] input is selected.
  3. Move the cursor to the PadType row and set the pad type for the connected hi-hat pad.
  4. Set Gain (Input Gain) and Sensitivity, then adjust MinLevel (Minimum Input Level) and RejectTime (Reject Time) for a clean response.

Tips

  1. The Lemon pedal triggers open/closed states via the [HI-HAT CONTROL] jack.
  2. You get clean open and closed hi-hat; graded half-open and foot-splash articulations are not delivered here.
