The Crimson III supports continuous/variable hi-hat natively — its manual describes pressing the pedal to different positions to change the sound, like an acoustic hi-hat (it ships a continuously-variable control pedal). The Lemon hi-hat controller uses the Roland VH/FD convention, not documented for continuous CV here — so with the Lemon controller, treat hi-hat as open/closed.

- Plug the Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake into the hi-hat pad.
- Plug the HH Pedal connector on the cable snake into the hi-hat controller.
Module settings
- Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger. Select the Hi-Hat input.
- Adjust Head (Bow) Sensi, Threshold, and Pedal Sensi.
- Press the F3 (Save) button after editing — otherwise the edited data is lost after powering off.
Tips
- No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
- Open/closed transitions may feel less nuanced than modules with pedal curve tuning.
- If closing the pedal sets off the hi-hat pad, raise VibrateCancel (0–7) — it helps to prevent vibration interference caused by closing the hihat pedal. Set too high, some sounds may be omitted when playing the hihat.
- If a single strike sounds twice, increase RetrigCancel (0–15) while repeatedly striking the pad, until re-triggering no longer occurs — too high a value can drop notes in fast playing.
