11" Hi-Hat Controller on Alesis Crimson III

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 11" Hi-Hat Controller when used with the Alesis Crimson III.

Setup — 11" Hi-Hat Controller on Alesis Crimson III

Reduced — switch (open/closed)

The 11" Hi-Hat Controller works on your Alesis Crimson III with reduced zones.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake + 1× TRS (pedal) → HH Pedal connector on the cable snake

Same hi-hat architecture as the Crimson II. Uses Alesis pedal convention; Roland-style continuous CV is not documented — treat as open/closed.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake.
  2. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pedal controller to the HH Pedal connector on the cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger. Select the Hi-Hat input.
  2. Adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, and Splash Sens.

Tips

  1. No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
  2. Splash Sens controls how easily splash sounds are triggered by quick pedal lifts.
  3. Open/closed transitions may feel less nuanced than modules with pedal curve tuning.
