Hi-Hat Controller Sensor on Simmons SD2000

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the Hi-Hat Controller Sensor when used with the Simmons SD2000.

Setup — Hi-Hat Controller Sensor on Simmons SD2000

Use as switch hi-hat

The Hi-Hat Controller Sensor works on the Simmons SD2000 as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS pad + pedal → provided cables into the Serial Connection Jack on the bottom of the module

The Lemon hi-hat pad and pedal controller connect through the provided cables to the Serial Connection Jack and deliver reliable open and closed hi-hat.

Cable routing

  1. Using the provided cables, connect the hi-hat pad and the hi-hat pedal by their 1/4" jacks; the pin connection attaches to the Serial Connection Jack on the bottom of the module (Multi-Pin Jack Input, p.14).

Module settings

  1. Press [Utility], then the Function soft-key under "Trigger" on the Main Utility screen.
  2. Select the Hi-Hat input (Follow Trigger — strike it — or Current Trigger).
  3. Adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, Curve, Retrigger, Crosstalk, Splash Sensitivity.

Tips

  1. The Lemon hi-hat pad and pedal give reliable open and closed hi-hat — open with the pedal up, closed with the pedal pressed (p.14).
Hi-Hat Controller Sensor also fits 69 other drum modules — see setup
