The Lemon hi-hat controller uses the Roland VH/FD convention, which Alesis doesn't document for continuous CV on this input — so with the Lemon controller, treat hi-hat as open/closed.

- Plug the Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake into the hi-hat pad.
- Plug the hi-hat pedal lead on the cable snake into the hi-hat controller.
Module settings
- Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger and press Enter. Hit the hi-hat pad to select it.
- Adjust Sensitivity and Threshold.
- Press Save to keep the changes — otherwise they are lost when you power off the drum module.
Tips
- No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
- Open/closed transitions may feel less nuanced than modules with pedal curve tuning.
- The module's trigger note chart gives every dual-zone input a second edge or rim entry, but none for the hi-hat — play the bow; edge strikes are not a documented zone on this input.
- If a single strike sounds twice, check the hi-hat's Trigger page for Retrig Cancel (not all parameters are available for all pads) — it sets the required amount of time between successive hits of the pad to produce the sound for both hits.
- If other pads set off the hi-hat, check its Trigger page for Xtalk (not all parameters are available for all pads) — keep it low: if the value is too high, a hit played together with another pad can be silenced as crosstalk.
