Hi-Hat Controller Sensor on Alesis Command

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the Hi-Hat Controller Sensor when used with the Alesis Command.

The Hi-Hat Controller Sensor works on the Alesis Command as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake + 1× TRS (controller) → the hi-hat pedal lead on the cable snake

The Lemon hi-hat controller uses the Roland VH/FD convention, which Alesis doesn't document for continuous CV on this input — so with the Lemon controller, treat hi-hat as open/closed.

Cable routing

Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake.
Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat controller to the hi-hat pedal lead on the cable snake.

Module settings

Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger and press Enter. Hit the hi-hat pad to select it.
Adjust Sensitivity and Threshold.
Press Save to keep the changes — otherwise they are lost when you power off the drum module.

Tips

No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
Open/closed transitions may feel less nuanced than modules with pedal curve tuning.
