Hi-Hat Controller Sensor on NUX DM-310H
Setup — Hi-Hat Controller Sensor on NUX DM-310H
WorksYes — the Hi-Hat Controller Sensor works as a full hi-hat on the NUX DM-310H: variable pedal position.
Continuous
Open
Closed
Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat branch + 1× TRS (pedal) → Hi-hat Control branch on the multi-pin trigger snake
Continuous hi-hat. The DM-310H reads three pedal stages — closed, half-open, and fully open — via its HIHAT SET menu (HH SENS, HH OPEN VAL, HH CLOSE VAL). NUX's variable hi-hat sensing isn't documented as Roland VH/FD-compatible, so calibrate the pedal range with HH OPEN VAL / HH CLOSE VAL after connecting.
Cable routing
- Plug the Lemon hi-hat pad into the HI-HAT branch of the trigger snake.
- Plug the hi-hat control pedal into the Hi-hat Control branch of the trigger snake.
Module settings
- Press the [ MENU ] button, use − / + to select TRIGGER, and press [ ENTER ].
- Press [ ENTER ] to switch between parameters and use − / + to set SENSITIVITY and THRESHOLD.
- Press [ RETURN ], then from [ MENU ] select HIHAT SET and press [ ENTER ].
- Set HH SENS (0-127) for pedal feel.
- Adjust HH OPEN VAL and HH CLOSE VAL so the open and closed points match your pedal's travel (the gap between them is the half-open range).
- Press [ RETURN ] to exit.
Tips
- If half-open feels off, widen or narrow the gap between HH OPEN VAL and HH CLOSE VAL.
- Edge and choke work on the pad as on the other cymbals.
