11" Hi-Hat Controller on Alesis DM10

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 11" Hi-Hat Controller when used with the Alesis DM10.

Setup — 11" Hi-Hat Controller on Alesis DM10

Reduced — switch (open/closed)

The 11" Hi-Hat Controller works on your Alesis DM10 with reduced zones.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat input + 1× TRS (pedal) → Hi-Hat Control input

Dedicated HH Control jack, but Alesis specifies a 1/4" switch-style footpedal and does not document Roland VH/FD compatibility. Continuous behavior with a Roland-convention pedal is unverified — treat as open/closed.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the Hi-Hat input on the rear panel.
  2. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pedal controller to the Hi-Hat Control input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Go to Ext. Trig Menu. Select the Hi-Hat input.
  2. Set Piezo/Switch type as appropriate.
  3. Adjust Sensitivity and Threshold for the pad.

Tips

  1. The Hi-Hat Control input is a separate dedicated jack — do not confuse it with the Hi-Hat pad input.
  2. This module does not support keyboard-style expression pedals for hi-hat control.
  3. Test the full pedal sweep to confirm smooth open-to-closed transitions.
