Wiring: 1× TRS pad → an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack (CY Pad Type) + 1× TRS (controller) → HH CTRL jack
Hi-hat control. The hi-hat pad connects to an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack and the Lemon hi-hat controller connects to the dedicated HH CTRL jack, switching the hi-hat between closed, half-open and open sounds according to pedal position. The SPD-30 supports FD-8 and VH-11 control profiles.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the Lemon hi-hat pad to a free EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack (3/HI-HAT is the natural choice).
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the Lemon hi-hat controller to the dedicated HH CTRL jack.
Module settings
- In [MENU] > PAD > EXTERNAL, step on the hi-hat pedal to select the HH CTRL input, turn [Knob 1] (SEL) to "Pad Type" and set it to VH-11 with [Knob 3] (–/+).
- Hit the hi-hat cymbal to select its trigger input and set its "Pad Type" to a CY profile — CY-5 is the manual's own example for the 3/HI-HAT input.
- Press [MENU] > PAD > HH PEDAL to open the "PAD SETTING-HH PEDAL" screen and adjust HH Pedal Sens for the connected pedal.
- Press [MENU] > INST > HH CTRL, select the hi-hat pad, and set HH CTRL to PEDAL so the sound switches according to how the pedal is pressed.
Tips
- Only one pad can be set to PEDAL for hi-hat control at a time.
- The pedal switches between the closed, half-open and open hi-hat sounds by position; raise HH Pedal Sens if foot-close or foot-splash notes are too quiet.
