Setup — Hi-Hat Controller Sensor on Alesis Crimson II

Use as switch hi-hat

The Hi-Hat Controller Sensor works on the Alesis Crimson II as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake + 1× TRS (controller) → HH Pedal connector on the cable snake

The Crimson II supports continuous/variable hi-hat with its included RealHat control pedal (Alesis's continuously-variable pedal). The Lemon hi-hat controller uses the Roland VH/FD convention, not documented for continuous CV on this input — so with the Lemon controller, treat hi-hat as open/closed.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake.
  2. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat controller to the HH Pedal connector on the cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger and press Enter. Hit the hi-hat pad to select it.
  2. Adjust Sensitivity and Threshold.
  3. Press Save to keep the changes — otherwise they are lost when you power off the drum module.

Tips

  1. No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
  2. Open/closed transitions may feel less nuanced than modules with pedal curve tuning.
