Wiring: 1× TRS pad → HI-HAT input + 1× TRS pedal → HHctrl input (1/4" TRS jacks)
GEWA supports third-party hi-hat pads via its trigger presets, and the panel has a dedicated 1/4" TRS hi-hat-control jack (HHctrl; spec "HI-HAT CONTROL: 1× ¼" TRS socket", p.134) that the Lemon bottom-plate controller plugs straight into. An open/close calibration wizard ([F3] HH-CALIB., p.13) sets the pedal range for open, closed and half-open response.
Cable routing
- Connect the hi-hat pad to the HI-HAT input.
- Connect the pedal controller to the HHctrl jack.
Module settings
- Press the [18] [TRIGGER SELECT] button to enter Trigger Settings mode and turn the dial [5] [<INPUT>] to select the HI-HAT input, then press [F1] "Settings" to adjust Threshold, Gain and the other parameters with the dials [5]/[7].
- To calibrate the pedal, press the [TRIGGER SELECT] button, then press [F3] "HH-CALIB.".
- Close the hi-hat to the lowest position and press "NEXT", then open the hi-hat completely and press "FINISH".
Tips
- Run the HH-CALIB. pedal calibration ([F3]) after wiring so the module learns the controller's open and closed end-points.
- After calibration, verify the half-open transition point and adjust the position values to taste.
