Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 11" Hi-Hat Controller when used with the Roland TD-50X.

Setup — 11" Hi-Hat Controller on Roland TD-50X

Works

The 11" Hi-Hat Controller is fully supported on your Roland TD-50X.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS → HI-HAT input on the rear panel + 1× TRS → HI-HAT CTRL input on the rear panel

Continuous hi-hat control with granular pedal curve adjustment. Same as TD-50.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the HI-HAT input on the rear panel.
  2. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat controller pedal to the HI-HAT CTRL input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [TRIGGER] > navigate to HI-HAT SETTINGS for VH offset calibration.
  2. Set the pad type to VH-10 or VH-11.

Tips

  1. Calibrate the VH offset: loosen the clutch, let the hi-hat rest on the motion sensor, and adjust the offset screw until the on-screen indicator is centered.
  2. Pedal curve is adjustable for fine control over the open-to-closed gradient.
