Snare pad 2-zone 1× TRS → any EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack (1/KICK, 2/SNARE, 3/HI-HAT or 4/RIDE) with a 2-zone Pad Type — head + rim
The Octapad SPD-30 is an eight-pad performance pad whose external triggers live on four EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jacks. The jacks are labeled 1/KICK, 2/SNARE, 3/HI-HAT and 4/RIDE, but the manual notes you can use them as you like. Connect the Lemon snare pad to any free jack with a stereo (TRS) cable and choose a dual-trigger Pad Type so the head (Inst Head) and rim (Inst Rim) read independently.
Tom pad 2-zone 1× TRS per tom → an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack with a 2-zone Pad Type — head + rim
Each tom uses one of the four EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jacks with a dual-trigger Pad Type (head + rim over one TRS cable). Four jacks exist in total, so plan them across your snare, toms, cymbals, ride and hi-hat pad — every external pad shares the same pool of four inputs.
Kick pad Works 1× TS or TRS → an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack with a KD Pad Type — single-zone
Single-zone kick trigger. Connect the Lemon kick pad to any free EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack and choose a KD-series Pad Type. The manual's 1/KICK jack is the obvious choice, but any of the four inputs works.
2-zone crash 2-zone 1× TRS → an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack with a CY Pad Type — bow + edge
Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (Inst Head) and edge (Inst Rim) read independently over one TRS cable. The SPD-30 supports Roland CY-series cymbals (CY-5, CY-8, CY-14C, CY-12R/C, CY-15R). Each 2-zone cymbal occupies one of the four EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jacks.
3-zone ride 2-zone 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack with a CY Pad Type
Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into an external trigger input for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The SPD-30's external inputs read two sounds per pad (Inst Head + Inst Rim), so the ride drives two of its three zones here.
Hi-hat Continuous 1× TRS pad → an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack (CY Pad Type) + 1× TRS (controller) → HH CTRL jack
Hi-hat control. The hi-hat pad connects to an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack and the Lemon hi-hat controller connects to the dedicated HH CTRL jack, switching the hi-hat between closed, half-open and open sounds according to pedal position. The SPD-30 supports FD-8 and VH-11 control profiles.
