Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake + 1× TRS (controller) → HH Pedal connector on the cable snake
The Crimson III supports continuous/variable hi-hat natively — its manual describes pressing the pedal to different positions to change the sound, like an acoustic hi-hat (it ships a continuously-variable control pedal). The Lemon hi-hat controller uses the Roland VH/FD convention, not documented for continuous CV here — so with the Lemon controller, treat hi-hat as open/closed.
Cable routing
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake.
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat controller to the HH Pedal connector on the cable snake.
Module settings
- Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger. Select the Hi-Hat input.
- Adjust Head (Bow) Sensi, Threshold, and Pedal Sensi.
- Press the F3 (Save) button after editing — otherwise the edited data is lost after powering off.
Tips
- No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
- Open/closed transitions may feel less nuanced than modules with pedal curve tuning.
