The Crimson II supports continuous/variable hi-hat with its included RealHat control pedal (Alesis's continuously-variable pedal). The Lemon pedal uses the Roland VH/FD convention, not documented for continuous CV on this input — so with the Lemon pedal, treat hi-hat as open/closed.
Cable routing
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the Hi-Hat connector on the cable snake.
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pedal controller to the HH Pedal connector on the cable snake.
Module settings
- Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger. Select the Hi-Hat input.
- Adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, and Splash Sens.
Tips
- No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
- Splash Sens controls how easily splash sounds are triggered by quick pedal lifts.
- Open/closed transitions may feel less nuanced than modules with pedal curve tuning.
