T550 12" Snare on Simmons SD1500

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the Simmons SD1500.

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Simmons SD1500: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE lead on the multi-pin pad harness

The snare input supports dual-zone (head + rim) triggering via center piezo and rim switch.

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE lead on the module's supplied pad harness. The harness ends in a multi-pin connector that plugs into the Multi-Pin Connection Jack on the bottom of the module — the SD1500 has no individual rear-panel pad jacks.

Press [UTILITY], then [MENU] to open Trigger Setup.
Select the Snare input (strike the pad or use its Pad Select button).
Step with [PAGE -/+] and adjust Sensitive, Thresh, Curve, Retrig-C, X-Talk, Splash-S.

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
