T550 12" Snare on Yamaha DTX700
Setup — T550 12" Snare on Yamaha DTX700
Use as 1-zone snareYes — the T550 12" Snare works on the Yamaha DTX700 as a 1-zone snare: head only.
Head
Rim
Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE input (1/4" TRS jack)
The SNARE jack takes a stereo-type two- or three-zone pad (Owner's Manual p.12), and the module's snare pad types are Yamaha's own XP and TP models (Reference Manual p.46). A Lemon snare's rim is a second piezo, which this input does not register as a rim hit, so it reads the head only.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE input on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press the [MENU] button, turn the dial to select Trigger, then press the dial.
- Turn the dial to select Pad, then press the dial; strike the snare so the SNARE input is selected.
- Move the cursor to the PadType row and set the entry that matches your snare — the Reference Manual prints XP120/100 Snare, XP80 Snare, XP70 Snare, TP120/100 Snare and TP65S Snare (p.46).
- Set Gain (1–64) on the same Pad Type page so normal hits register cleanly (p.46).
- Raise MinLevel (Minimum Level, 0%–99%) to reject soft/false hits, and adjust RejectTime (4ms–500ms) if you get double triggers.
- Press the [STORE] button to store the setting — if a confirmation message appears, press the dial to proceed.
Tips
- Only the head (center piezo) triggers — this module doesn't read the pad's rim piezo.
