Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the Alesis Surge.

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Alesis Surge: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → Snare connector on the cable snake

The Snare connector on the cable snake supports dual-zone (head + rim) triggering via center piezo and rim switch.

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the Snare connector on the cable snake.

Hit the snare pad, or press its Snare Pad Select button, to select it.
Press Utility, then press Page/Select until SEN (Pad sensitivity) appears; use the < and > buttons to set it.
Press Page/Select to THR (Pad threshold) and set it with < / >.
Press Page/Select to R-S (Pad rim sensitivity) to set the rim (rimshot) response.
Press Page/Select to CUR (Pad velocity curve) to pick the dynamic response.
Press Save to keep the settings (otherwise they reset at power-off).

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
