Setup — T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-15

Works

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Roland TD-15: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: SNARE connector on the DB-25 cable snake → snare pad

Dual-zone triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) are read over the one lead and play separate sounds.

Module settings

  1. In the DRUM KIT screen, press [MENU], scroll to the SYSTEM icon, press [F3] (SYSTEM), select "Pad Settings", then press [F3] (ENTER).
  2. Press [F1] (TYPE), then strike the snare pad to select the SNR input.
  3. Turn the value dial to set Pad Type to PD-128 or PD-105.
  4. Press [F2] (BASIC) and set Sensitivity and Threshold for the snare.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo mounted under the head.
  2. On an input that reads head and rim, if the wrong zone plays, tune the module's head/rim settings for this pad's size; values set for a different-size pad may not carry over.
T550 12" Snare also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
