WorksYes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Roland TD-20: head + rim.
Head
Rim
Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE input (1/4" TRS jack)
Dual-zone triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. The module's snare input reads both piezo (head) and rim switch/piezo signals.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE input on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press [TRIGGER], then [F1 (BANK)] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
- Strike the snare to select the SNARE input (or use [TRIG SELECT]).
- Use [+/-] or the [VALUE] dial to set Trig Type to PD125 or PD105.
- Press [F2 (BASIC)] and set Sensitivity and Threshold for the snare.
Tips
- Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
- Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
