T550 12" Snare on NUX DM-8

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the NUX DM-8.

Setup — T550 12" Snare on NUX DM-8

Works

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the NUX DM-8: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: Snare branch on the multi-pin trigger snake → snare pad

Dual-zone snare with a third articulation: the DM-8 reads head, rim, and rim-shot (tri-zone), all over the one lead. A standard dual-zone Lemon snare drives head and rim natively.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the labeled SNARE branch of the bundled trigger snake into the Lemon snare pad.

Module settings

  1. Press MENU > TRIGGER and hit the snare to select it.
  2. Tune SENSITIVITY / THRESHOLD for the head, and RIM GAIN, HEAD RIM ADJUST and RIM SHOT SENSITIVITY for the rim and cross-stick.
  3. Use SPLIT (in the pad sound settings) to assign separate head and rim voices.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo mounted under the head — both on the one lead.
  2. Per-zone MIDI notes are editable under MENU > MIDI NOTE.
  3. On an input that reads head and rim, if the wrong zone plays, tune the module's head/rim settings for this pad's size; values set for a different-size pad may not carry over.
T550 12" Snare also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
