T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-27

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the Roland TD-27.

Setup — T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-27

Works

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Roland TD-27: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE connector on the DB-25 cable snake

Dual-zone triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently over the single TRS connection, so head shots and rim shots play separate sounds.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE connector on the DB-25 cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press [SYSTEM], select "TRIGGER" and press [ENTER], then select "BANK" and press [ENTER] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
  2. Strike the snare (display shows "S") or use the cursor buttons to select the SNARE input.
  3. Use the dial to set the Trig Type to the model that matches your snare pad.
  4. Back on the TRIGGER MENU, open "PARAM", select the snare, then set Sensitivity from the cursor + dial.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
T550 12" Snare also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
