T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-07

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the Roland TD-07.

Setup — T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-07

Works

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Roland TD-07: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: The snare lead on the dedicated connection cable → snare pad

Dual-zone snare triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) are read over the one lead. Set the snare pad type to PD105 or PD85 so rim shots and cross-stick register on a Lemon mesh snare.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the included dedicated connection cable's snare lead into the Lemon snare pad. Its other end goes to the module's single TRIGGER INPUT connector — each lead is labeled for its pad, and the manual's instruction is simply to "connect the appropriately labeled cable to each pad".

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP], select "PAD" with the cursor buttons, and press [ENTER].
  2. Strike the snare to select its input on the "PAD" screen.
  3. Select "Type" with the cursor buttons and use the dial to set it to PD105 or PD85 to match your snare.
  4. Fine-tune "Sens" (1-32) and "Threshold" (0-31) so soft and hard hits register cleanly.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo mounted under the head.
  2. On an input that reads head and rim, if the wrong zone plays, tune the module's head/rim settings for this pad's size; values set for a different-size pad may not carry over.
T550 12" Snare also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
