T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-1

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the Roland TD-1.

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Roland TD-1: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → the snare lead on the dedicated connection cable

Dual-zone snare triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Set the Snare pad type to S2 (PDX-8/PDX-6) to enable rim sounds on a Lemon mesh snare.

Cable routing

Plug the included dedicated connection cable's snare lead into the Lemon snare pad. Its other end goes to the module's single TRIGGER INPUT connector — each lead is labeled for its pad, and the manual's instruction is simply to "connect the appropriately labeled cable to each pad".

Module settings

Press the [Select] button to select Drums mode, then long-press the [Metronome] button so the mode lamp blinks (Making Detailed Settings).
Press the [Select] button to blink the Tempo mode lamp (Changing the Type of Pad).
Play the snare pad, then use the [-] [+] buttons to set the Snare pad type to S 2 (PDX-8, PDX-6).
Press the [Metronome] button to complete the setting.

Tips

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
If the snare pad type is left at S1 (TD-1K default), rim hits will not produce a separate sound.
