T550 12" Snare on Donner DED-300 Pro

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the Donner DED-300 Pro.

Setup — T550 12" Snare on Donner DED-300 Pro

Works

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Donner DED-300 Pro: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: Snare plug on the multi-pin trigger snake → snare pad

The DED-300 Pro snare channel is dual-zone — head and rim trigger as separate MIDI notes, and a rimshot articulation is available via the XSTICK ADJ utility. Pads connect through a labeled multi-pin trigger snake that plugs into the module's parallel port.

Cable routing

Module settings

  1. MENU > SENSITIVITY > select SN > PS (head), RS (rim), THR, XTALK, RETRIGER, VOLUME.
  2. MENU > AMBIENCE > XSTICK ADJ tunes the snare rimshot trigger sensitivity.

Tips

  1. Snare MIDI notes: head = 38, rim/sidestick = 37, rimshot = 40.
  2. MENU > MIDI NOTE lets you remap any zone's MIDI value if you use external software.
  3. On an input that reads head and rim, if the wrong zone plays, tune the module's head/rim settings for this pad's size; values set for a different-size pad may not carry over.
T550 12" Snare also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
