T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-10

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Snare when used with the Roland TD-10.

Setup — T550 12" Snare on Roland TD-10

Works

Yes — the T550 12" Snare works as a full snare on the Roland TD-10: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE input (1/4" TRS jack)

Dual-zone triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently over the single TRS connection, so head shots and rim shots play separate sounds.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP], then press [F1 (TRIG)], and then press [F1 (BANK)].
  2. Navigate to the SNARE input.
  3. Set the trigger type to 10A (for a PD-100) or 12A (for a PD-120) — the settings with strike-location detection.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
T550 12" Snare also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
