Setup details by role

Snare pad 2-zone 1× TRS → Snare branch on the multi-pin trigger snake

Dual-zone snare with a third articulation: the DM-8 reads head, rim, and rim-shot (tri-zone), all over one TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim). A standard dual-zone Lemon snare drives head and rim natively.

Tom pad 2-zone 1× TRS per tom → Tom 1 / Tom 2 / Tom 3 branch on the multi-pin trigger snake

Dual-zone toms: head and rim respond independently over one TRS connection per tom. The two rear TRIGGER IN jacks can host extra toms.

Kick pad Works 1× TS or TRS → Kick branch on the multi-pin trigger snake

Single-zone kick trigger via the snake's Kick branch.

2-zone crash 2-zone 1× TRS → Crash 1 / Crash 2 branch on the multi-pin trigger snake, or a rear-panel TRIGGER IN jack

Dual-zone crash: bow and edge respond independently over one TRS. The DM-8 has two crash branches plus two expansion TRIGGER IN jacks (set PAD TYPE accordingly).

3-zone ride 2-zone 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE branch on the multi-pin trigger snake

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the RIDE branch for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The ride's second zone is assignable, so give it a ride-edge or crash voice.

Hi-hat Continuous 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat branch + 1× TRS (pedal) → Hi-hat Control branch on the multi-pin trigger snake

Continuous hi-hat. The DM-8 maps explicit open, half-open, and closed states (its MIDI map includes half-open notes) and the HI-HAT SET menu reads variable pedal position via HH OPEN VAL / HH CLOSE VAL. NUX's variable hi-hat sensing isn't documented as Roland VH/FD-compatible, so calibrate the pedal range after connecting.
