Setup details by role
Snare pad 2-zone The snare lead on the dedicated connection cable → snare pad
Dual-zone snare triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) are read over the one lead. Set the Snare pad type to S2 (PDX-8/PDX-6) to enable rim sounds on a Lemon mesh snare.
Tom pad 1-zone The tom leads on the dedicated connection cable → one per tom pad
The Roland TD-1 tom inputs are single-zone — only the head signal is read. Rim hits on a dual-zone tom pad will not produce a separate sound.
Kick pad Works The "KIK" lead on the dedicated connection cable → kick pad
Single-zone kick trigger via the dedicated connection cable. Only the head zone is active.
2-zone crash 2-zone The crash lead on the dedicated connection cable → cymbal
Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently over the one lead. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-1 addresses two 2-zone crash triggers, CR1 and CR2, each with its own bow and edge note.
3-zone ride 1-zone The ride lead on the dedicated connection cable → Ride 1 — bow only
The TD-1 reads one zone from its RIDE connector. Its whole trigger surface is pad sensitivity and pad type — there is no rim or edge parameter and no per-input trigger menu — so the bell and edge cannot be addressed. A Lemon 3-zone ride plays as a bow-only ride.
Hi-hat Open/Closed The hi-hat lead → hi-hat pad + the "HHC" lead → hi-hat controller, both on the dedicated connection cable
Switch-type hi-hat pedal control. The TD-1 distinguishes open, closed, and foot-closed states only — fine half-open and splash articulations are not reproduced like higher-tier Roland modules.
