T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland TD-20

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum when used with the Roland TD-20.

Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland TD-20

Works

Yes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works as a full snare on the Roland TD-20: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE input (1/4" TRS jack)

Dual-zone triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. The module's snare input reads both piezo (head) and rim switch/piezo signals.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [TRIGGER], then [F1 (BANK)] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
  2. Strike the snare to select the SNARE input (or use [TRIG SELECT]).
  3. Use [+/-] or the [VALUE] dial to set Trig Type to PD125 or PD105.
  4. Press [F2 (BASIC)] and set Sensitivity and Threshold for the snare.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
