T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Alesis Strata Core

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum when used with the Alesis Strata Core.

Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Alesis Strata Core

Works

Yes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works as a full snare on the Alesis Strata Core: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: SD (Snare) on the cable snake → snare pad

The Snare trigger slot is dual-zone (head + rim), with independent Head Sensitivity, Rim Sensitivity, Head Threshold, and Rim Threshold. Snare articulations are Head, Rimshot, Rim Click, and XStick.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the SD (Snare) trigger on the cable snake into the snare pad. The snake's plug goes into the Module Mount on the module's bottom panel, not the rear panel — the rear panel carries only the Tom 4 and Cymbal 3 trigger inputs (User Guide p.10, p.11).

Module settings

  1. Press the Kit button, then tap Trigger on the left edge to open Trigger Mode.
  2. Tap Hit Select and strike the snare to select the SD slot (or tap SD in the meter row).
  3. Load a dual-zone drum preset from the Library, then open Tweaks to set Head Sensitivity, Rim Sensitivity, Head Threshold, and Rim Threshold to taste.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo; rimshot, rim click, and cross-stick come from the rim sensor on the TRS ring.
  2. If rimshots and rim clicks need rebalancing, open Advanced and adjust Rim Balance (-64 to 63).
  3. On an input that reads head and rim, if the wrong zone plays, tune the module's head/rim settings for this pad's size; values set for a different-size pad may not carry over.
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
