Wiring: 1× TRS → any EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack (1/KICK, 2/SNARE, 3/HI-HAT or 4/RIDE) with a 2-zone Pad Type — head + rim
The Octapad SPD-30 is an eight-pad performance pad whose external triggers live on four EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jacks. The jacks are labeled 1/KICK, 2/SNARE, 3/HI-HAT and 4/RIDE, but the manual notes you can use them as you like. Connect the Lemon snare pad to any free jack with a stereo (TRS) cable and choose a dual-trigger Pad Type so the head (Inst Head) and rim (Inst Rim) read independently.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the Lemon snare pad to any free EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack (1/KICK, 2/SNARE, 3/HI-HAT or 4/RIDE) on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press [MENU] > PAD > EXTERNAL to open the PAD SETTING-EXTERNAL screen.
- Hit the connected pad to select it, then turn [Knob 1] (SEL) to Pad Type and set a 2-zone snare profile such as PD-105 or PD-125 as a starting point.
- Fine-tune Sensitivity, Threshold and Velocity Curve to your playing if the default response needs adjusting.
- In INST, assign a snare wave to Inst Head and a rimshot/sidestick wave to Inst Rim for that input.
Tips
- A stereo (TRS) cable is required — head triggers on the tip, rim on the ring of the same cable.
- Raise the X-Talk Cancel value on this input if a nearby pad on the same stand triggers the snare unintentionally.
