T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Simmons SD1250

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum when used with the Simmons SD1250.

Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Simmons SD1250

Works

Yes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works as a full snare on the Simmons SD1250: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → the SNARE lead of the multi-pin cable harness

The snare input is dual-zone (head + rim): the module's note chart gives SNARE and SNARE RIM SHOT separate MIDI notes.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE lead of the multi-pin cable harness — the leads are marked with the pad each one goes to. The harness ends in a multi-pin connector that plugs into the DB25 Serial Connection Jack on the bottom of the module; apart from the right-side-panel Crash 2 and Tom 4 jacks, every pad reaches the SD1250 through the harness.

Module settings

  1. In Utility mode, press the Function button under Trigger on the Main Utility screen (Utility → Trigger F1).
  2. Select the Snare pad via Follow Trigger (strike it) or Current Trigger, then adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, Crosstalk, Retrigger, and Curve.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
