T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland TD-6

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum when used with the Roland TD-6.

Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland TD-6

Works

Yes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works as a full snare on the Roland TD-6: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE input (TRIGGER INPUT 2) on the rear panel

Dual-zone snare triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection on the SNARE input.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE input (TRIGGER INPUT 2) on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Hold [SHIFT] and press [EDIT (SETUP)] to enter setup mode, then select TRIG BASIC.
  2. Strike the snare so the display shows the SNR input.
  3. Set the Trigger Type to PD80R or PD120 (the settings for PD-80R / PD-120 mesh dual-zone pads) — these are the trigger types optimized for separate head + rim sensing on the SNARE input.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
  3. The SNARE input is the only TD-6 input that fully supports the mesh-style rim signal used by PD-80R / PD-120 pads.
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
