Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Yamaha DTX400K
Use as 1-zone snareYes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works on the Yamaha DTX400K as a 1-zone snare: head only.
Head
Rim
Wiring: 1× lead on the nine-channel snake → SNARE trigger input (3.5 mm mini stereo at the module end)
This module's snare input reads the head zone only for a Lemon pad.
Cable routing
- Unplug the stock Yamaha pad from the nine-channel snake and plug that same lead into the Lemon pad — the snake's pad-end plugs are standard 1/4" (p.18). This is the connection Yamaha itself documents for swapping a pad (p.56).
- Going direct to the module instead needs a 3.5 mm-to-1/4" adapter — stereo for the SNARE jack, per the specifications (p.64).
Module settings
- Hold the [KIT] button and press the [SONG] button to enter Menu Mode.
- Press number button [5] to select the Trigger Settings group.
- Press number button [5] for the Gain parameter, strike the snare to select it, then set the gain (1-127) with the number buttons so light hits register.
- Press number button [6] for the Minimum Level parameter, strike the snare, then set the minimum level (0-99 %) so soft hits below your threshold are ignored.
- Press number button [3] for the Snare Pad Type parameter and choose the type that best matches the connected pad; leave [1] (automatic identification) if unsure.
Tips
- Only the head (center piezo) triggers — this module doesn't read the pad's rim piezo.
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
