T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland V31

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum when used with the Roland V31.

Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland V31

Works

Yes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works as a full snare on the Roland V31: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE connector on the DB-25 cable snake

Dual-zone triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. The module's snare input reads both piezo (head) and rim switch/piezo signals.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE connector on the DB-25 cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press the [MENU] button.
  2. Use the cursor buttons to select "SYSTEM" -> "TRIGGER", then press [ENTER].
  3. Press the [F1] (BANK) button to open the TRIGGER - BANK screen.
  4. Select the SNARE input (strike the pad or use the cursor buttons).
  5. Use the dial to set the trigger type to the model that most closely matches your connected pad (the full trigger-type list is in the module's Data List).
  6. For finer control, press [F3] (BASIC) and adjust the pad's Sensitivity.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
