T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Donner DED-400
Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Donner DED-400
WorksYes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works as a full snare on the Donner DED-400: head + rim.

Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE lead on the signal-connection harness
The DED-400 snare channel is dual-zone — the module supports "double trigger, with side response", so the head and the drum edge (rim) trigger separately, and a side-strike/cross-stick is produced with the SNARE + RIM combination. Pads connect through the signal-connection harness, which ends in a multi-pin parallel-port plug on the module's TRIGGER INPUT port.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE lead on the module's supplied signal-connection harness. The harness ends in a multi-pin parallel-port plug that connects to the module's TRIGGER INPUT port — the DED-400 has no individual per-pad rear-panel jacks; only the TOM4 and CRASH2 expansion inputs are discrete 1/4" jacks.
Module settings
- Press the MENU button, use +/- to select 2-PAD SET, and press OK to enter the pad parameter interface.
- Tap the snare pad to select it, then press + / - to choose a parameter and turn the encoder to set the value (press OK to confirm).
- Set Pad Sen (drum surface sensitivity, 1-6, smaller = more sensitive), Rim Sen (drum side/rim sensitivity), Threshold (trigger threshold, 1-32), Xtalk (crosstalk threshold, 1-32), MaskS Time (masking time, 1-32), Curve (LINEAR/LOG/LOUD), and Volume (0-127).
- Press SAVE to store the settings.
Tips
- Strike the head for the drum voice and the rim for the side-strike — holding SNARE then pressing the RIM key produces the military-style side strike documented in the manual.
- Rim Sen (drum side sensitivity) in 2-PAD SET tunes how readily the rim zone triggers.
