T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland SPD-SX PRO

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum when used with the Roland SPD-SX PRO.

Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Roland SPD-SX PRO

Works

The T950 13"x5" Snare Drum is fully supported on your Roland SPD-SX PRO.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → any TRIGGER IN jack (1/2, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8) set to HEAD&RIM — head + rim

The SPD-SX PRO is a sampling pad with four dual-trigger TRIGGER IN jacks rather than a labeled snare input. Set the chosen jack's Input Mode to HEAD&RIM and a single TRS cable carries both zones — head (tip) and rim (ring) trigger independently. The pad plays whatever waves you assign to that trigger input in the kit.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the Lemon snare pad to any free TRIGGER IN jack (1/2, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8) on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [MENU] > SYSTEM > PAD/TRIG IN, then [F1] (PARAM).
  2. Select the trigger input you used and set Input Mode to HEAD&RIM so head and rim are read separately.
  3. Set Trig Type to a 2-zone snare profile such as PD-125 or PD-105 as a starting point, then fine-tune Sensitivity, Threshold and Curve.
  4. In KIT EDIT, assign a snare wave to the trigger's head and a rimshot/sidestick wave to its rim.

Tips

  1. Head triggers on the tip, rim on the ring of the same TRS cable.
  2. Raise XTalk Cancel if a nearby pad on the same stand triggers the snare unintentionally.
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 70 other drum modules — see setup
