Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum when used with the Alesis Strike MultiPad.

Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Alesis Strike MultiPad

Works

The T950 13"x5" Snare Drum is fully supported on your Alesis Strike MultiPad.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS → Trigger In 2/3 or 4/5 set to Head+Rim — head + rim

The Strike Multipad is a sample multipad, not a kit module. Its onboard pads play assigned samples, and on the rear panel it adds a small set of external Trigger Inputs: Trigger In 1 is single-zone (TS), while Trigger Ins 2/3 and 4/5 are the only two dual-zone (TRS) jacks. A Lemon snare uses one of those two dual-zone jacks with its Type set to Head+Rim, so a single TRS cable carries both zones — head and rim trigger independently and play whatever samples you assign to that trigger input.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the Lemon snare pad to Trigger In 2/3 or 4/5 on the rear panel (these are the two dual-zone jacks).

Module settings

  1. Press [Trigger] and open the trigger settings for the input you used (TRIN2–5).
  2. Set Type to Head+Rim so the head and rim zones are read separately.
  3. Adjust Sensitivity, Scan Time, Retrig-C and Mask Time for clean response, and use Rim Gain to balance the rim zone.
  4. Assign a snare sample to the head and a rimshot/sidestick sample to the rim of that trigger input.

Tips

  1. Head triggers on the tip, rim on the ring of the same TRS cable.
  2. Raise X-Talk if center hits accidentally trigger the rim sound, or vice versa.
  3. Only two dual-zone jacks exist (2/3 and 4/5) — plan which pads claim them.
T950 13"x5" Snare Drum also fits 70 other drum modules — see setup
