Wiring: 1× TRS → Snare trigger input (1/4" TRS jack)
The Snare trigger slot is dual-zone — Trigger Zone 1 reads Head and Trigger Zone 2 reads Rimshot (with Rim Click / cross-stick available on the rim) via the center piezo and the rim piezo.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE trigger input on the rear panel — Alesis heads that section "Rear Panel" and the jacks are silkscreened left to right KICK, SNARE, TOM 1–TOM 4, AUX DRUM, HH CYM, HH CTRL, RIDE, CYMBAL 1–CYMBAL 4 (User Guide p.7, p.12).
Module settings
- Press the Kit button and tap Trigger on the right edge of the screen to open Trigger mode; tap Hit Select and strike the snare to select the SD (Snare) input.
- Load a matching Trigger Preset from the Library, or open Tweaks and set the SD input's Head Sensitivity (1.0-32.0) and Rim Sensitivity (1.0-32.0) so head and rim both respond.
- In Tweaks, set Head Threshold (1-127) and Rim Threshold (1-127) to taste.
- In Advanced, use Rim Balance (-64 to 63) to set how easily rimshots vs. rim-click / cross-stick play.
- If a head hit falsely triggers the rim, raise XTalk Decay (0-127) on the SD input (Advanced).
Tips
- Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring — both ride the one TRS cable (tip = head, ring = rim).
- Use the Snare Rim small encoder on the Kit Browser to choose Side Stick or Click for the rim sound.
- If a head hit falsely triggers the rim, raise XTalk Decay on the Snare input.
