T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Yamaha DTX-PRO
Setup — T950 13"x5" Snare Drum on Yamaha DTX-PRO
WorksYes — the T950 13"x5" Snare Drum works as a full snare on the Yamaha DTX-PRO: head + rim.
Head
Rim
Wiring: 1× TRS → SNARE input (1/4" TRS jack)
Dual-zone snare triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. The DTX-PRO's [SNARE] jack supports multi-piezo pads, so a Lemon dual-piezo snare (head piezo + rim piezo) reads both zones once the snare's Pad Type is set to a matching SN entry.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the snare pad to the SNARE input on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press the [MENU] button, select Trigger, then Pad Type, and strike the snare to select its trigger input (p.9).
- Set PadType to the SN entry that matches your snare — the Reference Manual prints XP120/100, XP80 and TP70S/70 (p.37).
- Set Gain (1–127) and Sensitivity (1–13) on the same page so soft and hard hits register cleanly (p.38), and raise RejectTime (4ms–500ms) if one stroke produces two notes.
- If the rim sounds too quiet or too loud against the head, set RimGain (1–127) and H/R Balance (p.39).
Tips
- Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring.
- Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
