12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on 2Box DrumIt 3

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals when used with the 2Box DrumIt 3.

Setup — 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on 2Box DrumIt 3

Works

Yes — the 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works as a full hi-hat on the 2Box DrumIt 3: variable pedal position.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS pad → HIHAT A input + 1× TRS pedal → HIHAT B input (1/4" TRS jacks)

Continuous hi-hat. The DrumIt Three's hi-hat channel calibrates the connected controller through its UNIT-HCAL page — set HTYP to DEF, trim the RAW value to match the pad, and run the CALIB routine to capture the pedal's closed and open end-points.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the hi-hat pad to the HIHAT A input.
  2. Connect the pedal controller to the HIHAT B jack.

Module settings

  1. Select the hi-hat channel (hit the pad or use the CHANNEL buttons) and open the UNIT-HCAL page (shown only when the hi-hat channel is selected).
  2. Set HTYP to the hi-hat type: DEF (all popular types), 2BOXHH, or ALEHH.
  3. Set the RAW value to match the pad using the recessed HH Cal screw on the back panel (Roland-style pads: 800-850).
  4. Run CALIB: press the leftmost DATA button, close the pedal, press it again, open the pedal, then press once more to exit (display reads 'done').
  5. On the UNIT-TRIG page set GAIN, THRES, and CURVE for the hi-hat channel.
  6. On the UNIT-HSET page set SENS (pedal sensitivity) and CURVE (dynamic response); fine-tune PFACT/POFF on UNIT-HCAL for foot chick/splash if needed.

Tips

  1. Calibrate the hi-hat pedal range (open/closed end-points) in the module settings so the response tracks the full pedal travel.
12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals also fits 69 other drum modules — see setup
