12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Alesis Nitro Pro

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals when used with the Alesis Nitro Pro.

Setup — 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Alesis Nitro Pro

Use as switch hi-hat

The 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works on the Alesis Nitro Pro as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → Hi-Hat connector on the 25-pin cable snake + 1× TRS (pedal) → the hi-hat pedal lead on the cable snake

Same Nitro-family hi-hat platform. Pedal input is not documented as Roland VH/FD compatible — treat as open/closed.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the Hi-Hat connector on the 25-pin cable snake.
  2. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pedal controller to the hi-hat pedal lead on the cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press the Mode button until Normal Mode (Kit, Voice, Song) is active.
  2. Hit the hi-hat pad so the module selects that input.
  3. Press the Utility button repeatedly until SEN (Pad sensitivity) appears, then set it with the - and + buttons.
  4. Press Utility until THR (Pad threshold) appears, then set it with the - and + buttons.
  5. Press Utility until S-S (Hi-Hat "splash" sensitivity) appears, then set it with the - and + buttons.
  6. Press Save to keep the settings — otherwise they return to defaults when you power the module off.

Tips

  1. No pedal curve options are available — the module uses a fixed pedal response.
  2. Continuous pedal resolution is limited compared to modules with dedicated pedal curve tuning.
12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals also fits 69 other drum modules — see setup
