12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Alesis DM10 MKII

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals when used with the Alesis DM10 MKII.

Setup — 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Alesis DM10 MKII

Use as switch hi-hat

The 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works on the Alesis DM10 MKII as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → hi-hat trigger on the cable snake + 1× TRS (pedal) → the hi-hat pedal lead on the cable snake

The Lemon pedal uses the Roland VH/FD convention, not documented for continuous CV here — so with the Lemon pedal, treat hi-hat as open/closed.

Cable routing

  1. Secure the DB-25 cable snake to the port on the bottom of the module, then connect the hi-hat pad's ¼″ TRS end to the hi-hat trigger on the snake.
  2. Connect the hi-hat pedal controller's ¼″ TRS lead to the hi-hat pedal lead on the cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press Trigger to enter the trigger interface page, then hit the Hi-Hat pad to select it.
  2. Adjust Head Sensitivity and Threshold for the pad.
12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals also fits 69 other drum modules — see setup
