The 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals is fully supported on your Roland TD-8.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS → HI-HAT input on the rear panel + 1× TRS → HH CTRL input on the rear panel

Continuous hi-hat control. Supports FD-7 and FD-8 pedal types.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat pad to the HI-HAT input on the rear panel.
  2. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the hi-hat controller pedal to the HH CTRL input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [TRIGGER] > [BANK].
  2. Navigate to the HI-HAT input.
  3. Set the pedal type to FD-7 or FD-8.

Tips

  1. Continuous pedal control provides smooth open-to-closed transitions.
  2. Calibrate the hi-hat offset after connecting for accurate pedal response.
