Wiring: 1× TRS pad → an eDRUMin input + 1× TRS (controller) → the pedal input
Full continuous hi-hat control. The hihat controller input supports both Roland and Yamaha controllers (p.6). The manual sets no cable requirement in text; its Pedal Input Wiring Diagrams (p.54) show two controller types — an FSR controller wired tip-to-sleeve, and a Hall-sensor controller using all three conductors. A TRS cable serves both. eDRUMin 10 has two pedal inputs.
Cable routing
- Connect the hi-hat pad to an eDRUMin trigger input.
- Connect the hi-hat controller with a 1/4" TRS cable to the dedicated pedal-controller input — labelled Controller Input (ED4), Pedal Input (ED8), or Dual Controller (ED10). TRS works with either controller wiring the manual shows; a TS cable only suits the FSR type.
- Warning: the pedal input carries DC current and will damage a drum pad plugged into it. Connect only a hi-hat controller or pedal there — never a pad (manual p.5).
- eDRUMin 4/8: 1 pedal input. eDRUMin 10: 2 pedal inputs.
Module settings
- Open the eDRUMin Control Application and open the Pedal Editor (click the pedal-input icon at the top of the UI).
- Set Pedal Type to the Roland-style hi-hat controller (the default), then calibrate: click Calibrate, take the pedal through its full range of motion, and click Calibrate again to store — eDRUMin does not lock in calibration until you run this.
- Select the hi-hat pad's input in the Trigger Editor and set its Pad Type to 'Hihat Cymbal' — on an eDRUMin 10 this reads 'Hihat 1 Cymbal' or 'Hihat 2 Cymbal', matching the pedal input you used.
- Calibrate the pad: turn on Calibrate Mode, hit the bow and then the edge — GAIN, THRESH, SCAN, HOLD and the SCALER highlight green and self-adjust — then turn Calibrate Mode off to save. Fine-tune Decay, Crosstalk and the Velocity Curves by hand.
- Set CC/Levels behaviour and assign MIDI notes in the Pedal Editor (CC Mode / Levels Mode) and Drum Map Editor as needed.
