12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Alesis Strike MultiPad

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals when used with the Alesis Strike MultiPad.

Setup — 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Alesis Strike MultiPad

Works

Yes — the 12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works as a full hi-hat on the Alesis Strike MultiPad: variable pedal position.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS pad → Trigger In 2/3 or 4/5 (Head+Rim) + 1× TRS (controller) → the HH jack in the TRIGGER IN row (Type = Variable)

Continuous hi-hat control. The hi-hat pad connects to a dual-zone jack (Trigger In 2/3 or 4/5) set to Head+Rim for bow + edge, and the Lemon hi-hat controller connects to the HH jack — silkscreened HH in the TRIGGER IN row, and the one Alesis calls the HH Pedal (User Guide p.5). Use a TRS cable: the Technical Specifications list it as a "1/4" TRS HH pedal input" (p.30). In the Pedals menu, set the HH Type to Variable so it "will send a variable range of velocity values" for smooth open-to-closed response; a Switch option exists for fixed open/closed.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the Lemon hi-hat pad to a free dual-zone jack (Trigger In 2/3 or 4/5).
  2. Connect the Lemon hi-hat controller to the HH jack in the TRIGGER IN row with a 1/4" TRS cable.

Module settings

  1. Press Utility, then F3–Triggers, set EXT Trigger to the hi-hat pad's input (TRIN2–5) and set Type to Head+Rim.
  2. Press F4–Pedals, select Pedal = HH and set Type to Variable for continuous control.
  3. Set Op Pos / Cl Pos (0-127) to choose the velocity sent at the pedal's open and closed positions.

Tips

  1. Variable mode gives smooth open-to-closed transitions; calibrate Op Pos / Cl Pos after connecting.
  2. The hi-hat pad needs one of the two dual-zone jacks for its bow + edge zones — plan jack use accordingly.
12" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals also fits 70 other drum modules — see setup
