T550 12" Kick on Yamaha DTX-PRO

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Kick when used with the Yamaha DTX-PRO.

Yes — the T550 12" Kick works as a full kick on the Yamaha DTX-PRO: single zone.

Trigger

Wiring: 1× TS or TRS → KICK input (1/4" TRS jack)

Single-zone kick trigger. Only the head zone is active.

Connect a 1/4" TS or TRS cable from the kick pad to the KICK input on the rear panel.

Refer to the DTX-PRO manual for menu navigation. Adjust trigger parameters including Sensitivity, Threshold, and Crosstalk for the Kick input.

A TS cable is sufficient for single-zone kick pads; TRS also works (ring is unused).
