T550 12" Kick on Roland TD-20

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Kick when used with the Roland TD-20.

Yes — the T550 12" Kick works as a full kick on the Roland TD-20: single zone.

Trigger

Wiring: 1× TS or TRS → KICK input (1/4" TRS jack)

Single-zone kick trigger. Only the head zone is active.

Connect a 1/4" TS or TRS cable from the kick pad to the KICK input on the rear panel.

Press [TRIGGER], then [F1 (BANK)] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
Strike the kick or select the KICK input.
Use [+/-] or the [VALUE] dial to set Trig Type to KD120 (or KICK for a non-Roland kick trigger).
Press [F2 (BASIC)] and set Sensitivity and Threshold for the kick.

Single-zone operation — only the head zone is active.
A TS cable is sufficient for single-zone kick pads; TRS also works (ring is unused).
